Fight night.

After all the training and hard work at Tiger, my fight Friday was to be my great test…

Fighting at the city's largest Stadium, in-front of hundreds of spectators. All in a foreign land. Preparing for the fight, I knew along with my physical readiness, I needed to mentally fit as well…

So come fight night I was calm and focused. Ready for what ever my opponent was planning to through at me. Ready for war. To my surprise, there would be no war, just a short one sided exchange. And when the bell rang I left no time for him to gather himself. I attacked with  calculated combinations…Knocking out my opponent in the first round. This stunned the crowd, and by the time my opponent hit the ground they were all on there feet.  And with that, my hand was raised again. My hard work paid off and I could not have asked for a greater way to showcase it.

I leave you with some of the photos of Friday night. Also, once the video is available to me I will be post it up as well.

Cheers,

Elias.

Big Buddha of Phuket

This Past Friday I along with a few others went off to see the Big Buddha of Phuket. Along the journey we stopped off at a few Buddhist temples. It was an Amazing experience. The temples were beautifully decorated and displayed centuries of history and spiritualism. Then at the Big Buddha, I experienced something truly amazing and once in a life time…

It all happened when I noticed in a far corner a group of monks meditating in the basement of the Big Buddha. I began to sneak around for a picture and managed to snap a few before I was caught. But to my surprise the security guard asked if I would like to join them! Needless to say, I kicked off my sandals and joined in. I was there for nearly an hour. A truly amazing experience.

Here are a few images of my day…

Fight date scheduled!

After nearly two weeks of intense training, there is now an end goal to look forward too…

December 10th has been set as the date I will show what I am made of a the local stadium (Bangla Stadium) The stadium holds up to 500 people, and Friday nights are always a full house! Today, along with the usual 8 hour training day, I was photographed and interviewed for the up coming fight. Which was quite the new thing for me, but needless to say, I enjoyed the spot light. Defiantly something to get use too...

Posters and Banners should be placed around town by next week, which means my pretty mug will be all over this place. You can be sure I will take a few pics of that! Along with snagging a few posters and banners to take back home. I am so excited!

More news to come…

Patong Stadium Fights.

Last night I and a few others from Tiger Muay Thai went to Patong City to watch fights at the local Stadium. The stadium is located right in the heart of Patong, where all the craziness happens. Everything from lady bars (prostitutes), lady-boy bars (transvestite prostitutes), gambling, drinking and all the other debauchery made famous in Thailand is present. Being very focused on training I stayed clear of all that fun stuff. There will be plenty of time after my own fight, which will actually be in the same Stadium ! The event had many great fights with nearly 20 fights taking place that night. Of all the fights my favourite had to be the first fight. Each fighter was no older than 12 and had some of the best technique featured last night. It left me very inspired to train even harder and put on a show when I enter the Stadium again, but this time as a competitor.

I leave you with a few images of my night at Bangla Stadium for the "Big Fight Night" event at Potang.
Also my favourite fight of the night, featuring fighters who are under the age of 12~!
